Wow. What a spectacularly uneventful book.
I spent 173 pages in the world of The Tobacco Wives, and I couldn’t bear to spend a moment longer in it. What a terribly mediocre book. I can firmly say, after reading the 825th description of a dress, that I have no interest whatsoever in what happens throughout this story. The characters are as flat as printer paper and about as colorful as such.
Did you guys get it?! There are gay people?! GET IT?! I’m soooooo inclusive. – Adele Myers, probably.
Save your 28 bucks or whatever and don’t buy this one. Check it out from the library if the marketing and the cover have you that hooked.
