The story revolves around the inner lives of members of a small Connecticut town as they face a myriad of personal tragedies. These loves and losses are amplified by the chapters which serve as the interwoven perspectives of a whole host of genuinely felt characters.
The story is very character-driven, so if you’re into a lot of twists and turns, it may not be for you. But if you (like me) enjoy slice-of-life characters facing realistic tribulations, A Little Hope is a must-read. It was my Book of the Month choice for November and I’m entirely glad I chose it.
Dates read: November 16-18, 2021
Looking back on A Little Hope, I wish I’d taken more time with it. It feels like one of those books that is asking to be taken in slowly. Also, Ethan Joella is really nice on Instagram.
